Product description:
Glyceryl monostearate (GMS) appears as pale yellow-white fine granules or a colorless, odorless powder with a slightly sweet taste. It occurs naturally in the human body as a byproduct of fat breakdown and is present in fatty foods.
Derived from palmitic and stearic acids, GMS is plant-based, non-toxic, contains no skin irritants, and is safe for topical use. It is wax-like in texture with a melting point of 54–64 °C.
Commonly used in oil-in-water emulsions, it creates a light cream-like consistency. At concentrations of 5–10%, it produces a stable mixture that resists separation even after freezing and thawing. It also exhibits excellent oxidative stability.
